Blackjack at Jazzy Spins

Online blackjack is one of the few casino games where you can truly test your skill and strategy against the dealer. It’s a fast-paced, exciting game where you are constantly reaching for the magic number of 21 without letting your guard down.  Jazzy Spins offers you an excellent range of blackjack variants that are guaranteed to keep you on your toes.

Blackjack originated in French casinos in the 18th century and was commonly known as vingt-et-un (‘21’). It’s believed to have evolved from two popular card games of the time, French Ferme and Chemin de Fer. When French colonialists reached the shores of North America, they brought with them their love of 21. The game spread in popularity across the United States, before reaching Nevada in the 1930s.

Some Las Vegas casinos started offering a special bet: A hand that featured either of the two blackjacks and an Ace of Spades would pay 10:1 odds on the bet. While the bet was eventually discontinued, the name of the game stuck and 21 evolved into Blackjack. Today, multiple variants of blackjack can be played online at sites such as Jazzy Spins Casino.

Blackjack Games at Jazzy Spins

You’ll find a wide variety of online casino table games, and online blackjack in particular, at Jazzy Spins. Get to know the different types of blackjack found on our platform and choose the ones that appeal to you and your gaming preferences.

Classic Blackjack:

The most popular of all blackjack variations, classic blackjack can be played with anything between 1 and 8 decks of cards. The player and dealer are each dealt 2 cards, with one of the dealer’s cards face down. The aim is to create a hand that totals 21 but does not exceed it.

European Blackjack:

The difference between classic blackjack and European blackjack is the way the cards are dealt with. This version is played with two decks of cards, and the dealer’s second card is not dealt until you make your decision about how to play your two dealt cards.

American Blackjack:

Go head to head with the dealer in this exciting blackjack version. You don’t need to get 21 to win the game – simply beat the dealer without busting your hand in American blackjack.

Spanish 21:

Say goodbye to all the 10 value cards in a game played with 6 – 8 card decks. While the house edge increases, so does the excitement too.

Pontoon Blackjack:

Add some swag to your blackjack entertainment with a game that is similar to Spanish 21 but uses different terms for Hit, Stand and Blackjack (Pontoon, Twist and Stick).

Live Blackjack:

When you want to play blackjack as you would at a brick-and-mortar casino, but still love the comforts of online gambling, then Live Blackjack is the way to go.  Thanks to cutting edge streaming technology, you can ‘sit’ down at the live tables at Jazzy Spins, place your bets, chat to the dealer as he or she deals the cards and then play as per the rules of the game. This is a classic case of having your cake and eating it too!

How do you play progressive blackjack?

How to Play Blackjack Online:

The simple card game of blackjack is played between you and the house (the casino). The ultimate aim is to create a hand where the total value is as near to 21 as possible without exceeding this number or to make the dealer go bust.

Step 1: Before you are dealt your initial two cards, you need to make a bet. Check out the minimum and maximum betting limits of the blackjack table to make sure that they suit your bankroll size. Click on the amount you wish to wager and press deal.

The value of your hand is determined by your dealt cards. In general, the Ace counts as 1 or 11 points, the face cards are worth 10 points and all other cards have their face value.

Step 2: Depending on your hand, your next step is to decide how to proceed.  If you get 21 with your first two cards, it’s an automatic win (as long as the dealer doesn’t get one too). If your hand adds up to more than the House’s without going over 21, you also win.

Step 3: If you’re happy with your hand, you ask to Stand. The dealer then turns over his downward facing card and either Stands or Hits according to the game rules. You may also ask to Hit (have another card dealt) if your cards have a low enough value. You can also Fold, meaning that you’re not happy with your cards, you forfeit your bet and you don’t continue playing. The game ends when the dealer pays out winning hands or collects your bet if you lose.

Some blackjack variants offer a side bet which is referred to as Insurance. You’ll pay this bet when you believe that the dealer has a Blackjack. Payouts are determined by the specific rules of each blackjack variant.

Online Blackjack Rules

Over and beyond the basic rules mentioned above, you will find reference to some other concepts in blackjack.

For example, a soft hand is a hand where the Ace has been counted as 11.  Some variants allow you to Surrender, where you essentially give up half your bet after the dealer has seen his down-card.

It is strongly suggested to learn the basic strategy of your favourite blackjack game – one of the best ways to bring down the house edge and boost your bankroll.
